Terms of Service

1. The service and these terms

Jugs & Crimps is a service based in Alberta, Canada, for individual climbers to record climbs and review progress. These terms concern the website, web application and mobile and optional companion applications. Gym and route information supports the climber experience; these terms do not create a gym-management or coaching agreement.

2. Eligibility and accounts

To use Jugs & Crimps, you must be at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority under the law applicable where you live and use the service. The service is intended for adults worldwide where legally available. You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure and use accounts only as authorized. Notify us at support@jugsandcrimps.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for content and actions you submit, subject to applicable law.

3. Permission to use the service

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, nonexclusive permission to use Jugs & Crimps for your personal climbing records and supported activities. The application and our branding remain ours or our licensors'. Your use does not transfer ownership of our software or intellectual property. Applicable app-store usage rules also apply to software obtained through a store.

4. Your content

You retain rights you hold in content you submit. You grant us permission to store, reproduce, process and display that content as reasonably needed to provide the service, including requested route analysis and supported community features. You must have authority to submit images and other content, including appropriate permissions when they identify other people.

5. Acceptable use

Do not submit unlawful content, infringe others' rights, harass users, impersonate others, access data without authorization, bypass security, disrupt the service or use it for fraudulent activity.

6. Climbing safety and automated output

Climbing and related activities involve risks, including serious injury. Jugs & Crimps records information and may provide automated photo matches, summaries or progress displays. It is not a substitute for checking the actual route, following facility rules, using appropriate equipment or seeking qualified instruction when needed. Do not rely on a photo match, grade, workout estimate or summary as a safety assessment. Automated results may be incomplete or incorrect. The service does not promise improved climbing performance or provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

If you have concerns about your health or ability to participate, consult a physician or another qualified healthcare professional before climbing or starting related exercise, especially if you have a health condition, an injury or are returning after a period of inactivity. Information, workout estimates and automated output in Jugs & Crimps are not medical advice or an assessment of your fitness for an activity.

7. Permissions and third parties

Optional camera, photo, location, notification and health permissions support particular workflows. You can manage device access through platform settings. Apple Health, Health Connect, app stores and other third-party services have their own terms and practices. Our privacy notice explains our processing and relevant providers.

8. Free launch and future subscriptions

The initial public launch is intended to be free. There is no subscription purchase or renewal commitment in these terms. If paid plans are introduced later, we will present the applicable price, features, billing frequency, renewal/cancellation terms and other required information before purchase. Free use does not authorize us to start charging you automatically.

9. Beta access

Beta versions may change, contain errors or be withdrawn. Beta sign-up requests do not guarantee an invitation or ongoing access. Invitation and test availability depend on the chosen platform and approved testing arrangements. We may request feedback through the communicated process.

10. Availability and changes

We may update the service to maintain or improve it, subject to applicable law and any commitments we make. Internet access, compatible devices and permissions may be needed for particular functions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that automated results will always be correct.

11. Ending use and account deletion

You may stop using the service and delete your account through https://app.jugsandcrimps.com/account by signing in and following the confirmation steps. Deletion removes your account and associated climbing history, sessions, favourites and connections and signs you out. It cannot be undone.

Shared gyms, routes and photos with current shared attachments remain without attribution to your deleted account; route merges preserve photo contributions on the surviving route. Personal image searches are removed and unused owned files receive private-file cleanup. Retained image files and associated location/time/camera/copyright information are not guaranteed anonymous. Selected identifying metadata fields are removed, but shared image files are not rewritten and may contain embedded identifiers or identifying image content. Backup, log, provider and saved device-health records have separate lifecycles.

12. Responsibility and dispute handling

Mandatory consumer and other legal rights continue to apply. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude a right or liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

13. Privacy and contact

Read the approved Jugs & Crimps privacy notice for how information is handled. Privacy choices and notices must operate independently where consent is legally required; agreement to these terms does not automatically authorize every processing purpose.
